This amazing buckle was created by well known Zuni artist Frank Vacit. He uses Jet, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, Coral, and Mother of Pearl in what is referred to as channel inlay.  Stones are set in Sterling Silver. 

The buckle measure 2 7/8" by 2 3/8". It is made for a 1 1/2 inch belt but smaller belts can be used.

The Eagle Dancer plays an important role in Zuni ceremonies. The Zuni believe that the eagle is a intermediary between the spiritual world and the earthly world and can help achieve divine favor.
