Mary Coriz

Mary Coriz began her relationship with jewelry working in a jewelry store at the age of 17.  She started making her own soon after meeting her husband and moving from Isleta Pueblo, where she was born, to his hometown of Santo Domingo. She has been a jewelry artist for over 45 years. 

Of creating pieces she states, “I love doing it. After my daughters it is the most important thing for me. I’ll sit here for hours and hours working. I love doing it.” Mostly, Mary enjoys the variety of color combinations she can implement in her work. While she has many unique ideas of her own she is also very eager to garner ideas, for her pieces, from others.
