Kevin Ray Garcia
Kevin grew up in Santo Domingo Pueblo. He comes from a family of jewelers and silversmiths. His mother taught him the art of heishi making and his brother teaches him various techniques. Kevin uses natural turquoise, stabilized turquoise and Acoma Jet. His heishi are handrolled and each stone is cut from hand. He credits his grandmother for his inspiration and is grateful for her enthusiasm of his art. He hopes that his art with create happiness for each buyer because working on each piece brings him joy. He appreciates those who buy his pieces and says that these purchases allow him to share his art and support his family.
