Gloria Sawin

Gloria Sawin is a craftswoman of outstanding creativity and vision, whose talents run the gamut from Lapidary and Metalsmith to skilled engineer.  Her career as a fine jeweler began when Gloria debuted her first small collection at Nancy Brown Jewelry in 1987 in Santa Fe and quickly became one of the top selling artists.

Since then Gloria has continued to set herself apart creating a line of thoroughly inventive Reversible Jewelry which has generated a loyal clientele and a reputation for quality in the industry.

Sawin has shown her work at the Prestigious ACC, Baltimore Arts and Crafts Market, and in 2000 won “Best of Show” at the New Mexico State Arts and Crafts Fair.  In 2003 Sawin received the National Niche Award for Best Gold Jewelry.

John Hull (Gloria’s Husband and Partner) is a master stone carver and inlay artist as well as outstanding jeweler.  “Little did I know, 35 years ago, when I made my first bead, that I would embark on a career and journey as a lapidary/jewelry artist.”  “Stones help to reunite we humans with our source.  Years of working and collecting stones in Guatemala, New Zealand, Australia, and Asia has given me a lot of respect for stones, and a fabulous collection!

Hull says his love of simple, natural designs is well received by the stones.   Says John, “You can never have enough rocks!”

Gloria is married to John Hull, her long-time friend and co-worker.  Their jewelry is a collaboration that inspires and continues to evolve.  John built a beautiful studio/greenhouse onto their home where they share a view of their amazing garden and the Turquoise Sky here in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
