For over thirty years, Anne Forbes has lived and worked in Taos where she fabricates beautiful jewelry by hand in her studio. “My jewelry is made to fit the body and enhance the human form.”
Anne attended Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine and Cranbrook Art Academy in Michigan. She received her BA in Art Education from Michigan State University. But jewelry has been the focus of her creativity.
Anne’s mother was also a jeweler, taught by the well-known Taxco jewelry expert Greta Pack. Although Anne was not trained in jewelry making by her mother, her pieces also strongly project the influence of the Taxco school.
Anne’s designs use silver, gold, precious and semi-precious stones, as well as ancient beads, Greek and Roman coins, old jade pieces from China and 14th-century weights originally used to measure gold. Yet her jewelry has a clean, almost modern look… a touch of sophistication for your jewelry collection.
