Douglas Fountain

Douglas Fountain’s mother’s family is Dakota Sioux. He himself is a great great grandson of Sitting Bull and a member of the Devils Lake Sioux Tribe of North Dakota. Doug’s love for his ancestors and the culture of his people is expressed through his artwork.

Douglas Fountain’s Spirit Masks begin with the simplicity of a gourd.
